Let me introduce myself; my name is Myra, I’m a lawyer and mother of twe sons Just (2010) and Quinten (2012). I live in Amsterdam, with my boyfriend and two kids. Regularly I go out with the boys on Friday, my day off. Of course my boys are super sweet ;) but also real boys who make a lot of noise, knocking over things, making a mess and want to run around. So you can assume that wherever I’m going and whatever I’m doing is in any case “kids proof”!
A few weeks ago, I went to a play of Wonderland with the boys and the two daughters of a good friend. This play was in the Buiksloterkerk (North), a real cool spot to go to a play some time! But the makers of Wonderland have plays in several spots.
Not only watch, but also participate
The idea behind Wonderland is that the kids not only watch a play of music and dance, but can eventually join it too! This way the creativity of the kids is being stimulated. At the beginning the kids are sitting on pillows in front of the stage, looking around a bit shy. To be honest I feared they wouldn’t be able to get those kids moving, but it absolutely worked!
Bit by bit the kids were asked to join and at the end of the play every single kid is on stage, so much fun to watch! All kinds of instruments pass by and Just still talks about the farting trumpet… ☺
I can really recommend you to go; fun for kids from about two years old, and I even think younger kids would like to join the dancing on stage! Take a look at their website for more information and the agenda.
