Let me introduce myself: my name is Anaïs (30), Lou’s mom (2012) and I work at the sales department of fashion company Hop Agenturen. I have been living in beautiful Brabant for five years now, with Han. But as a true Antwerp girl, my heart still skips a beat for this beautiful city along the Schelde. That’s why you can find me there almost every week, cause it feels like coming home every time!
This summer there’re plenty things to do during the summer months, to get into the holiday mood in Antwerp. Like any major metropolis, every year there’re super cool pop-up beaches and other hotspots that give you the feeling that you’re at the Côte d’Azur.
My favorite 1 is Badboot
Badboot is the largest floating pool in the middle of Kattendijkdok. Unique, ’cause it appears as if you actually swim in the dock. You can take a swin for €4 per hour. Book your swim in advance, because there’s a stop at 120 people per hour. Extra fun is that you can subscribe to aqua gym on Sunday morning. And after swimming, you can also eat a small snack.

Chill at citybeach Strantwerpen
Years ago, the concept of Strantwerpen started. Which was (in my youthful child-free years) the hip and trendy place-to-be in summer. Strantwerpen has long lost much of its glory. As for many über cool concepts, there’s a period in which it simply become too popular.
Nice to see that Strantwerpen returned. It looks very nice this year with a restaurant, yoga and Thai massage.
Strantwerpen is this year in St. Anneke Beach at the left bank of the Schelde, where you have an exceptional view of the skyline of Antwerp city. Open until 31 August and ideal to dream away.
