Let me introduce myself: my name is Anaïs (30), Lou’s mom (2012) and I work at Bugaboo as an account manager. I have been living in beautiful Brabant for five years now, with Han. But as a true Antwerp girl, my heart still skips a beat for this beautiful city along the Schelde. That’s why you can find me there almost every week, cause it feels like coming home every time!
I’ve always been a big fan of bio ingredients, and especially now as a mom you always want to make extra sure the little one gets nothing but the best nutrients. Lombardia helps with that and is by far the best when it comes to biological and vegetarian food!
Situated in the heart of Antwerp in the older part of the city it’s always lovely there, especially with good weather!
Biological, vegetarian lactose- and gluten-free food
Lombardia opened it’s doors in 1972 and was the very first nature nutrition store in town. A while later the bio restaurant opened. Through the years it’s grown to be an international known biological and vegetarian place to eat, where they experiment with new flavours and natural nutrition.
You can both have breakfast and lunch here, but it’s also the place to be for lactose-free and gluten-free products. Even the menu captures the imagination!
The real musthave at Lombardia is gingertea. Nice to know about it is that in 2006 an article appeared in The Wall Street Journal about the Antwerp gingertea. The reactions on this article were enormous and a while later there was an American talentscout on their doorstep.
The known gingertea almost even made it to the menu of Starbucks!
Unfortunately those plans were cancelled, but luckily the gingertea – named GingerLove – got well known all over Belgium. Enjoy!
