My name is Daniella and I’m a busy, working mom of sons Brooklyn (3,5) and Hunter (8 weeks). I live with my boyfriend, son and English Bulldog just outside Rotterdam. I love Rotterdam and therefore I do not only work there, but you can also find me there very often after working hours. My sons are going along nicely and so I automatically search spots in Rotterdam where you can eat, shop or walk with kids. The precious free time we spend together needs to be fun and relaxed.
A must-go tip that always works well with kids is Rotterdam Zoo (Diergaarde Blijdorp). Now that spring finally makes its appearance, we’re waking up with the sound of singing birds in the background and the weather is nice; there is time to go out and enjoy. The animals awakening in the Zoo and go outside slowly.
Brooklyn finds it great to walk there every time (a year subscription is therefore highly recommended). He learns the names of all kinds of animals and -not unimportant- he gets a chance to lose his energy. Inside and out there is plenty playground and he knows exactly where to find it and tell me how to walk.
And when we’re tired, we tackle the train that takes you from one side of the Zoo to the other. It really feels like I’m with my best buddy if we run around hand in hand. And if we’re tired, we go home and pick a different route next time so we can see other animals again. As long as we say hi to mascot Olli each time. That’s really a requirement :)
Also Esther has been regularly visited Rotterdam Zoo with Flint:
The ray aka the ‘pancake fish’ is Flints favorite :)
