Next Monday, it’s Kingsday again and that means you have to put on your most gorgeous orange outfit and go out with the kids! For this festive day, we have listed some to-do-tips for you in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague.
Kids Streetmarket in various parks in Amsterdam (from 9.00 a.m.)
During Kingsday, there will be some kids’ street markets in various parks in Amsterdam (including the Vondelpark, Sarphatipark and Park Frankendael) where children under 16 years can sell their stuff.
Artisplein (9.00 – 13.00)
Besides that, there is also a kids’ street market at a very special place, namely between the flamingos and spoonbills on the ‘Artisplein’. Since the marketplaces are limited, the children must register at the main entrance of the Zoo from 8:00 a.m.
Bredewegfestival – Watergraafsmeer (10.00 – 20.00)
Besides the street market, there is also a Kingsdayfestival on the streets with a street market, circus, theatre performances and various concerts. There will be live music and kids can join an arts and crafts workshop, take a ride in the carousel or simply eat poffertjes (tiny Dutch pancakes) at the poffertjeskraam.

Witte de Withstraat and Nieuwe Binnenweg, City center (11.00 – 16.00)
Like in Amsterdam, there’s a kids’ streetmarket as well where they can sell their old clothes, toys and other stuff on their own. In addition to the street market, kids can also play old-Dutch games (nearby Nieuwe Binnenweg 33) and there is a kids’ stage where the real daredevils can show their talent!
Witte de With Plein (9.30 – 16:00)
In addition to the kids street market at the Witte the Withstraat, there’s also a kids street market at the ‘Witte de With Plein’. If the kids decide to sell there stuff there, they’ll get a (food)voucher to get something to eat at the restaurants on the square. There’ll also be a bouncing castle and a clown.
If parents or/and grandparents also want to come, then they can enjoy the day on the terrace.

Breedveldsingel / Mesdaglaan, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek (9.00 – 17.00)
In the morning in Hillegersberg, there will be a flea market and kids can join the parade all dressed up. In the afternoon, there are children’s games, a kids disco, a barbeque and a playback show.
De Fred – Frederik Hendriklaan (7.00 – 16.00)
At the Frederik Hendriklaan in The Hague, there’s a street market from 7.00 a.m. and kids can make their own crowns and get glittertattoos. There will also be a children’s DJ spinning and there is a fair for those who are interested!
