CULTURAL ICE-SKATING ON THE MUSEUMPLEIN IN AMSTERDAM by guest blogger Jessica

Let me introduce myself: I’m Jessica, e-commerce Buyer & Merchandise Manager at Scotch & Soda and mother of 2 sons: Pelle (3) and Morrison (1). I live together with my boyfriend and the kids on the second floor in Amsterdam, right on the border of the brimming Pijp and the fancy Museumkwartier. Dinner with the kids can be a real challenge sometimes in Amsterdam. So I made it my personal challenge to spot these restaurants. Especially the ones you also love to go to without kids are my favourites. Get your ice-skates out of the attic, because the ice-skating track on the Museumplein has been set up again! Created in the modern pond, right in front of the 'I Amsterdam' sign, between the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum and on the background the Concertbuilding. HOTSPOT: HUYGENSDOK, A RELIEF IN THE CITY by guest blogger Myra

Let me introduce myself; my name is Myra, I’m a lawyer and mother of twe sons Just (3) and Quinten (1,5). I live in Amsterdam, with my boyfriend and two kids. Regularly I go out with the boys on friday, my day off. Of course my boys are super sweet ;) but also real boys who make a lot of noice, knocking over things, making a mess and want to run around. So you can assume that wherever I’m going and whatever I’m doing is in any case “kids proof”! My tip: Huygens'dok. This café-restaurant is in Watergraafsmeer, on a small square along the Middenweg (the Helmholtzstraat), above the Albert Heijn. You can take the elevator or the stairs. Once upstairs, you enter a large room with cosy couches and tables. It’s a bit of a search when you meet there with a group of friends, but once you get there Huygens'dok is a relief in the city.
